In 1942, eight German saboteurs land in America, four on Long Island and four on the coast of Florida. They have enough explosives to cripple major railroads, waterways, highways and factories located in several states. Deception, false leads and military interference jeopardize FBI Agent Donnavon’s apprehension of the Germans before their mission, to disable the production of war material, can be accomplished. Excerpt "Hello, Albert," J. Edgar Hoover said when agent Donnavon walked into his office. "Have a seat. Let’s get right to it. After you called this morning I briefed the Secretary to the President, General Watson and I also alerted Attorney General Browle. I just dispatched a short memorandum to Browle by special messenger." Donnavon opened his briefcase and handed Hoover a large envelope that was sealed and marked SECRET. "That covers everything I know about the case so far. The lab boys are working on the contents of the boxes and bags." |
