Robert (Bob) Baron

Director - District I

Robert (Bob) Baron has served on the GVTC Board as Director representing District I for 17 years. He is chairman of the Safety Committee, and also serves on the Finance Committee. Mr. Baron’s technical background and professional experience make him a valuable contributor to the success of GVTC.

Mr. Baron is now a retired engineering professional. His experience includes seven years at Texas Instruments Inc. designing integrated circuits and 25 years at Lockheed Martin, working as a Contributing Engineer, Project Lead, and Engineering Manager supporting NASA at the Johnson Space Center. Mr. Baron’s projects involved various communications technologies, including voice and telemetry processing, digital signal processing, local area networks, control systems, and fiber optics. He received the Space Flight Awareness Award from NASA for contributions to the Space Shuttle program.

He serves on the Mystic Shores POA Maintenance and Amenities Committee and is a Comal Master Gardener.

Mr. Baron and his wife, Patricia, reside in Spring Branch, Texas. They have one son and one granddaughter. They are members of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Canyon Lake.

Mr. Baron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
